More and more occurrences of soil contamination at onshore maritime facilities such as marinas and shipyards have arisen due to the high degree of industrialization and intensities of chemical uses. But traditional best practices for soil clean-up can prove challenging with rising fuel and transportation costs. Bio-W Receives EPA NCP Certification

Bio-W is the first bioremediation, floating absorbent designed to collect and contain most hydrocarbons floating in water (both salt and fresh water).  Bio-W  has the ability to repel water therefore allowing it to "hold" only the hydrocarbons it absorbs.  When the hydrocarbons are "locked" or adhered to the fibers of the Bio-W flakes, the activated microbes will begin to remediate or "eat" the contaminant turning the hydrocarbons into harmless carbon dioxide (CO2) and water.
